Blessed faithful of God, loyal citizens of our holy Empire, friends and supporters of our mighty Empire, today I speak to you about the virtue of HUMILITY and its place in our Empire.
Virtue is an interesting concept for it defines that which is honorable and admirable in each of us. What are your virtues as a person? Do you hold yourself to a higher standard under His direction? Do you stand in defiance of His will or do you kneel in virtuous subservience? Virtue defines who we are and the virtue of humility is the epitome of the Amarrian race.
Some may look at the definition above and see "not arrogant" and laugh thinking the Amarr are arrogant above all others but this is not the case at all. We Amarr know we are the chosen of God and we hold that cross of duty close to our hearts. It is not arrogant to know you are Gods chosen nor is it arrogant to know you must care for the lessor races. This is simple truth not arrogance.
Likewise some may say the Amarr are proud and assertive but again these claims would fall in the face of our true selves. We are humbled by our holy Empire and humbled by the trust God has put in us as His chosen. We know fully well that falling from grace could mean we become relegated to lessor status thus we maintain our duty with the highest level of dedication. And with the highest level of humility. You see we of Amarr know our place in His universe... it is kneeling at His feet in subservient obedience.
"reflecting, expressing, or offered in a spirit of deference or submission"
We do not claim to be superior beings by our own design but by that of God and that is not arrogance at all. Of course the Amarr are the chosen race and thus not like the lessor races but this simple fact is not arrogance or pride simply the truth. Even those of Amarr kneel in deference to His holy word and obey His directives as transmitted via the holy Scriptures.
Humility... It is what Amarr is all about.
To be Amarr or Ni-Kunni or Khanid and a citizen of our holy Empire requires the utmost in dedication, commitment and resolve. It also requires knowing our place and being subservient to His holy will. This is the humility of which I speak.
When you go out into the universe and expand His Empire, when you preach the word of God to the lessor races, when you rescue wayward Minmatar and deliver them to salvation in service of Amarr, remember who you are and what you represent.... most of all remember WHO YOU SERVE.... and the humility of complete obedience to Him.
